The 2018 Toyota Corolla comes equipped with a 1.8-liter inline-4 engine, available in two variants: the 2ZR-FE and 2ZR-FAE. It produces 132 to 140 horsepower and around 128 to 126 lb-ft of torque, depending on the trim. The engine uses Dual VVT-i or Valvematic technology for improved efficiency and performance, and it's paired with either a 6-speed manual transmission or a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), depending on the model.
